| 4494C Ernst Hugo Schneider Exhibition Grade - Highly embellished combo circa early 1900’s O/U in calibers 16 ga over 8x57JR / 360. Entire gun is deeply engraved or carved except for the forward portion of the barrels and the cheek piece flat that fits your face. All wood and metal engraving is deep oak leaf pattern except where animals occur. Metal work has 13 animals, wood areas have eight animals plus right side of stock has a full scene goddess of the hunt. Coin finish metal work throughout. Gun is tight, perfect screws, used very little. Excellent bores. 26 ½” barrels (steel). Shotgun has 2 9/16 chamber choked ex full. Stock 13 7/8 LOP 1 ½ / 2 ½. Action is unusual in several respects and very likely one of a kind. Small and lightweight at 6 3/8lbs possibly made for a lady. Gold plaque soldered on barrel forward of forearm engraved with ladies name. Highly germanic work of gun art. Condition excellent- all original including finishes. $12,000.00 |
