| 4507C M. Berntheisel Cased Two Barrel Set. Very slender light side plated SxS with masterful engraving. One set of barrels 16ga SxS and one set of combo barrels SxS 8x57JRS x 16ga. Small action is original stainless continent steel – never case colored – looks like a 20ga. Purdey style 3rd fastener, double trigger, both sets of barrels have Ejectors, bushed firing pin for right barrel, tang safety. Perfect screws. Engraving is unusual and rendered by a master of his trade. Bosses are deeply sculpted – balance of metal is in a near Art Deco design plus minute floral accents making dense 100% coverage. Set of shot barrels are 16Ga x 28” choked M/Ex Full, original 2 ¾” chambers. Combo barrels are 23 ½” 8x57JRS caliber right barrel, 16ga shot left – choked Super Full with 2 ¾” chambers. Rifle sights are one standing on finely executed quarter rib, and one ramp front sight. Booth sets of barrels have 100% blue, excellent bores, with no pits or rust and barrels ring true. Wood is highly figured French walnut. Excellent wood to metal fit, original flat top checkering with no wear. Self checkered butt, initial oval, no splits, and very light handling marks. Straight stock with no cheek piece. Lop 14 1/8”, drop 1 ¾” – 3 1/8” (long tang trigger guard). Weight with shot barrels is 5 ½ lbs and 6 lbs with combo barrels. Cased in original leather case, combo barrels have a separate near round leather case that opens on one end to drop barrels out. This case straps to the oak & leather case.
